André reveals Gabigol’s provocation after Flamengo’s goal: ‘He chose the wrong favorite’

André revealed that he was provoked by Gabigol during the decision of the Guanabara Cup, won by Fluminense after beating Flamengo 2-1, this Wednesday, at Maracanã. After the title, the midfielder revealed that his statement about the favoritism of the decision was remembered by the attacker after the rubro-negro goal.

— In the first move of the game, Gabigol already kicked the ball at me. I think he didn’t quite understand what I said in the middle of the week. Right after they scored the first goal, he came to say that I chose the wrong favorite. I said that for everything that was happening – declared the steering wheel.

André’s statement took place last Tuesday. In the press conference before the classic, the defensive midfielder said that he saw Fluminense as a favorite due to the current moment of the teams.

— Flamengo is a very good team. Until last month, he was competing in the World Cup. So it can’t be bad. They are not in a very good phase. Their team has a lot of quality, well-matched players. About their advantage, if it were for our team we would play the same way. Impose our pace of play, as we do against all teams. So I don’t think it’s going to make much of a difference,” André declared.

With goals from Germán Cano and Gabriel Pirani, Fluminense beat Flamengo, in Maracanã, by 2-1, and secured first place in the Guanabara Cup table. More than taking away the rival’s position for almost all of Carioca’s shift, the result confirms the good tricolor moment.
