Amounts Receivable: Brazilians have R$7.5 billion forgotten – 12/07/2023 – Market

The Central Bank’s receivables system still has R$7.5 billion available for redemption, according to a new balance sheet released this Thursday (7).

In total, more than 16 million people have already withdrawn forgotten money from banks and financial institutions.

Most of the forgotten money comes from banks and consortiums. R$5.31 billion had already been recovered by the population by October, which benefited just over 16 million individuals and almost 812 thousand companies.

More than half have up to R$10 to receive. Around 40.6 million individuals and 3 million legal entities have some money forgotten in banks or financial institutions.

See the breakdown by forgotten value, considering that there are beneficiaries in more than one range:

  • Up to R$10: 62.98%
  • From R$10.01 to R$100: 25.71%
  • From R$100.01 to R$1,000: 9.64%
  • Above R$1,000.01: 1.68%

How to redeem the money

  1. Access the website valorareceber.bcb.gov.br on the date and withdrawal period informed in the first consultation. If you forgot what day it was, you can return to the system in the recap.
  2. Log in with your gov.br account (silver or gold level). Redemption is authorized for those with an account above the bronze level. Click here to learn how to create an account.
  3. If you don’t already have a bronze account, register immediately or increase the security level on the gov.br website or app. The BC’s guidance is not to leave it to create the account and/or adjust the level on the day of scheduling the redemption.
  4. Read and accept the disclaimer.
  5. Check the money to be received, the institution that must return the amount and the origin (type) of the amount. The system may provide additional information, if applicable.
  6. Click on one of the options indicated by the system:
    “Request here”: to return the amount via Pix, within 12 business days. The user must choose one of the Pix keys, provide personal data and save the protocol number, in case they need to contact the institution.
    “Request via institution”: aimed at users who don’t have Pix. In this case, you will need to contact the telephone number or email provided to arrange the withdrawal method with the institution.
  7. The institution’s service channels will appear on the information screen for amounts receivable.

You can check whether you have amounts to receive on the BC page. Access the official website, enter your CPF and date of birth and click “consult”.

Where does the money come from?

The receivable value system allows individuals and legal entities to consult values ​​such as:

  • Current or savings accounts closed with an available balance;
  • Fees charged incorrectly;
  • Installments or obligations relating to credit operations charged unduly;
  • Capital quotas and apportionment of net surpluses of credit union beneficiaries;
  • Unsought resources from terminated consortium groups;
  • Prepaid and postpaid payment accounts closed with available balance

Beware of scams

Be aware of scams involving the name of the BC system. Never click on suspicious links sent by email, SMS, WhatsApp or Telegram, nor make any type of payment to access the values.
