Amazonas participated in the 103rd National Forum of State Secretaries and Directors of Tourism (Fornatur), yesterday (07), to discuss the strengthening of the sector at the national level. The meeting was attended by the Ministry, the Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion (Embratur), airlines, state departments and associations.

The president of the State Tourism Company (Amazonastur), Gustavo Sampaio, highlighted that among the subjects discussed is the agenda of airlines, structures of the tourist sector, possibility of incentives.

“Amazonas participates in a highly relevant way so that we can bring the state’s reality to the fore, exposing our needs, showing which are our areas in which we need stronger action from the Ministry and Embratur”, he said.

Fornatur’s president, Fabrício Amaral, emphasized the purpose of the meeting and the presence of all managers from the 27 federative units at the event.

“Fornatur’s purpose is this: to join hands and understand what the public power can do, the capacity of the public and private to move forward, to face the bottlenecks, which are many, of all possible segments”, he highlighted.

According to Sampaio, Amazonas is present at national meetings to monitor tourism trends, joining forces with other states, in addition to strengthening ties with the private sector.

The Minister of Tourism, Daniela Carneiro, said that management will actively listen, on the part of the federal body, to contribute with the States in the development of tourism.

“This is the government of unity and reconstruction and, now, the expectation is great so that we can strengthen tourism in Brazil. I am sure that each one of you, representing your states, will contribute a lot to the Ministry. And we will also reciprocate, adding and joining efforts”, he pointed out.

Manauscult international tour

The Municipal Foundation for Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult), in partnership with the Tourism Secretariat of Fortaleza (Setfor), launched the integrated itinerary “Manaus and Fortaleza – Brazil is here”, a technical cooperation agreement that has with the aim of strengthening both destinations in the international market.

The agreement was signed during a workshop that Setfor promotes for guest travel operators and agents, with the support of the Brazilian Association of the Hotel Industry (ABHI-Ce) and the Secretariat of Tourism of the State of Ceará (Setur-Ce).

By bringing together Fortaleza and Manaus, capitals located in two of the richest Brazilian regions in cultural diversity and natural resources, the route highlights the beauties of the beach and the forest and creates itineraries that cover ecotourism, sea and sun, water sports, culture, gastronomy and entertainment, among other attractions.

Fortaleza’s Secretary of Tourism, Alexandre Pereira, explains that the partnership will increasingly help to give visibility to both States.

“We strongly believe in the strength of this partnership, which highlights the beauty of the Amazon and the 34 kilometers of coastline in the capital of Ceará, the tourist infrastructure and the culture of each city, enhancing the dissemination of the two destinations for international travellers”, he comments.

The project allows international tourists to choose the best entrance gate and organize a route of their choice, including determining which city they can return to their destination, since Manaus and Fortaleza connect weekly with 13 direct flights.
