Amazon Table Tennis Championship starts this Saturday

The event is part of the federation’s official calendar and serves as preparation for national championships.

Manaus (AM) – Aiming at qualifying for the national ranking, the 1st stage of the 2023 Amazonense Table Tennis Championship will be played this Saturday and Sunday (18th and 19th), starting at 8am, at the Vila Olímpica de Manaus. The competition has the support of the Government of Amazonas, through the Amazonas de Alto Rendimento Foundation (Faar).

“We want to see table tennis taking higher flights and taking the state flag across the country. Governor Wilson Lima’s determination is that we dedicate all our efforts to supporting our athletes”, highlighted Jorge Oliveira, Faar’s CEO.

Organized by the Amazonas Table Tennis Federation (FTMA), the tournament will be played in the Super Pre-Mirim, Mirim, Children, Youth, Youth, Absolute, Veterans and Senior categories, in male and female suits. The event is part of the federation’s official calendar and serves as preparation for national championships.

“We expect about 100 athletes for this competition. Through these stages we managed to form the selection that will represent Amazonas in national tournaments, in addition to evaluating the technical level of each competitor”, emphasized Israel Barreto, president of FTMA.

Soccer

In a game valid for the seventh round of the Amazonense Football Championship, Iranduba faces Manaus FC on Saturday (18), at 3:30 pm, at Ismael Benigno Stadium. On the same day and time, Amazonas FC and Nacional face each other at Carlos Zamith Stadium.

On Sunday (19), Manauara EC and Parintins FC duel at Carlos Zamith Stadium, at 3:30 pm. Closing the round, Rio Negro and Operário also face each other on Sunday, at the same time, at Ismael Benigno Stadium.

Organized by the Amazonense Football Federation (FAF), tickets for the four matches will be sold only on the day of the game, at the box office of the stadiums where the clashes take place.
