Amazon collective proposes public policies to the federal government and asks for the vote of the population

These are projects aimed at tackling the climate crisis and technological autonomy in the AM

The Plantaformas Movement, a project that is part of the Voices for Fair Climate Action (VAC) program, through participatory assemblies in its Plantaformas, asks for support from the population for its public policy proposals submitted to the Federal Government’s Pluriannual Plan (PPA). The projects, aimed at tackling the climate crisis and technological autonomy in the Amazonian territories, need the maximum number of votes to be presented at the 3rd Interconselhos Forum, in August this year.

Voting runs until July 10 and takes place through the Brasil Participativo platform. The proposals have as their main theme research and development, combined with technology, to create actions and foster debates on sustainability, ancestry and climate issues in the Amazon.

The titles of the proposals are “Coping with Climate Emergencies” It is “Amazon Technological Confluence Plan”and you can find the links to voting on the Brasil Participativo platform of the Federal Government below:

Among the measures suggested by the group to face the climate crisis are the creation of a fund to finance actions to prevent the impact on the most marginalized areas of the Amazon region. As for the technology folder, the coalition suggests a “Amazonian Technological Confluence Plan”in which digital inclusion is combined with guaranteed access to the internet, critical technological education and the provision of means of recycling electronic equipment produced and sold in the region.

The proposals, which were built through meetings and debates with an open, collaborative and democratic space between the 2nd to the 14th of June, are in the participatory PPA for popular voting until the 10th of July.
