The amapaense Wanna Brito, 27 years old, is one of the promises of amapaense parathletics and has been proving it in several competitions that participates. She was summoned to represent Brazil at the Paralympic Athletics World Championship, in Paris, and won a silver medal, granddaughter Friday (14), in the shot put in the F32 class, for athletes with cerebral palsy.
“First I want to thank God, my coach Marlon Gomes, who worked a lot with me, the team in Brazil and my team in Amapá. It is a very big job and thank God it worked. I see a very big future out there. It is the beginning of a great story and I have faith that a lot of good things will come from there”, said the athlete in her post-competition interview.
This is the second modality that Wanna participates in the Worlds. The first was a club throw, in which she placed fifth with a mark of 23.65m. The second was the shot put, in which she was runner-up. The amapaense was the only one from the state to be summoned to compose the Brazilian delegation.
