With roots from Curiaú (Father) and Tartarugalzinho (Mother), but born in Macapá, the player Igor Passion continues to show his football talent outside Brazil. The amapaense scored the third goal of Feyenoord Rotterdam and crowned Dutch champion of the 2022/23 season, on Sunday (14). The club had not won the competition title since 2016/2017.
The 3-0 victory over Go Ahead Eagles makes Feyenoord reach 79 points, 11 more than PSV, who are in second place and with two games in hand. It’s a score difference that can no longer be achieved. This is the club’s 16th Eredivisie title.
Igor Paixão, a former Coritiba player, was signed at the beginning of the season, in August 2022, and already has 26 games, seven goals and five assists in the Dutch Championship. At the age of 22, the amapaense was already decisive for Feyenoord’s victories.
From the base of São José/AP to Feyenoord
Igor began his career in the football world at the age of seven and after spending some time playing for São José, Igor was invited by Edinoelson Careca to join the Zico 10 football school, where they gave the player more opportunity to show his skills. In addition, Paixão played for other teams in the Pacoval and Novo Horizonte neighborhoods.

After some time, Igor Paixão went to carry out tests in some clubs like Santos and Flamengo, being in the latter that he was pre-approved. From there began the trajectory of the small talent from Amapá out of the state.
After the amapaense spent a few days being monitored by Flamengo, Igor’s father, José Paixão, saw an open sieve for Coritiba, and at the age of 13 the little star went to the southern city and was approved among 40 boys from several states.
At age 20, Igor Paixão was loaned to Londrina, where he played 31 games and scored four goals, helping the club secure access to Serie B in 2020. The following year, at the age of 21, he returned to Coritiba and gradually conquered his space in the club.
After becoming a starter for Coxa, Igor shone in the 2022 Paranaense Championship, scoring the two goals that gave Coritiba the state title and being chosen as the top scorer of the competition, along with the player Léo Ramalho.
In August 2022, the player was already in the sights of Feyenoord, who bought 80% of Igor’s economic rights for eight million euros, about R$ 41 million, becoming the biggest sale in the history of the alviverde club. Coxa retained 20% of the player’s economic rights.
