Amapá referee begins CBF VAR approval course – News of Brazil

Amapá referee Thaillan Azevedo is the only Amapá native to participate in the course


This Monday (29), the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) opened the second group of the VAR approval course for referees who stood out in Series C and D of 2023. Amapá referee Thaillan Azevedo is among the 33 professionals (29 men and four women) who will take theoretical and practical classes to play in matches that have VAR technology available.

Thaillan is the only arbitrator from the state of Amapá to be selected for the second group of the course, which will have activities carried out in the structures of the Brazilian Arbitration Center of Excellence (CEAB), Aeronautics Club (CAER) and auditoriums of the hotel where he will be staying .

The course will be divided between: field activities, at the Aeronautics Club (CAER); work with video bid reviews at CEAB; and reinforcement of concepts in the hotel where the professionals will stay. There will be activities in three periods and separation of the class into two groups, with the aim of deepening the classes and the assimilation of the referees and optimizing the time available.
