The challenges of Amapá, especially the riverside and border areas, were some of the points discussed by the Secretariat for Policies for Women (SEPM) at the National Forum of Policy Organizations for Women, which took place in Brasília from April 11 to 13. Managers from the 27 states of the federation participated in the meeting.
The Forum, which was attended by the Minister of Women, Cida Gonçalves, provided the dialogue for the implementation and integration of public policies aimed at women with the aim of guaranteeing rights and combating inequalities, discrimination and all forms of violence.
The Women’s Secretary, Adrianna Ramos, highlighted the advances and challenges related to confronting violence against women in Amapá. In addition to drawing attention to the need for support from the Federal Government within the reality of each state.
“Among many important topics, we highlight the need to broaden the debate and support related to riverside and border women, looking in a very special way at the municipality of Oiapoque. We request the support of the Ministry of Women to strengthen the reception of this population, including Minister Cida Gonçalves proposing the feasibility study of sending boats to assist in the activities carried out in the river areas”stressed the secretary.
Debates and discussions about the new moment of women’s politics in Brazil were extended to members of municipal and state bodies, requesting Amapá to host the 1st Forum of Public Policies for Women in the North Region.
the minister Cida Gonçalves was invited to visit and learn about the actions that are being developed, the realities of women from Amapa, and the works of the Casa da Mulher Brasileira in Macapá, which is at an advanced stage.
