The Government of Amapá participates in the 4th National Culture Conference, where delegations from across the country will evaluate public policies that strengthen cultural actions offered to the Brazilian population, starting this Monday, 4th, in Brasília.

The central theme of the conference is ‘Democracy and the Right to Culture’, with debates on the Institutionalization of legal frameworks and the National Culture System; Democratization of access to culture and social participation; Identity, heritage and memory; Cultural diversity and transversality in cultural policy; in addition to Creative Economy, work, income and sustainability; and Right to digital arts and languages.

After ten years since its last edition, the 4th Conference expects to bring together around three thousand people. Based on delegation debates, the approved proposals will support the guidelines of the new National Culture Plan (PNC), which will guide the department for the next decade.

For the Secretary of State for Culture of Amapá, Clícia Vieira Di Miceli, the 4th Conference promotes the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of public cultural policies.

“It is a time to exchange experiences and debate about public policies that guarantee cultural rights so that all segments can have access in a democratic way”pointed out the secretary.

Participating delegates will defend agendas of local interest and of Brazilian society in the implementation of plural, democratic, inclusive and participatory public policies. Furthermore, the initiative also aims to seek mechanisms through cultural means as a way to reduce social inequalities in Brazil. Among the Amapá delegation are representatives of cultural segments from the capital and the interior of the state.
