Amapá continues to stand out in terms of fighting and this time, outside Brazil. Taekwondo athletes Wyctória Rodrigues and Evelyn do Vale competed in the World School Championship of the modality and won a medal each. The sporting event took place in the city of Mazatlán, Mexico.
The athlete Wyctória Rodrigues won a silver medal in the category up to 42 kg. Evelyn won a bronze medal in the under-68 kg category. The athletes earned the right to participate in the competition after winning a gold medal in their categories at the Taekwondo National Trials, which took place in February this year.
About 35 people, including technicians and athletes, were part of the Brazilian delegation in the competition.
