The suspension of the judge’s social networks came from the determination of the National Council of Justice (CNJ)
Manaus (AM) – The judge of the Amazon execution rod, Luís Carlos Valois, had his social media accounts withheld this Monday (16). The suspension came by determination of the National Council of Justice (CNJ). The reasons for the retention of Valois’ internet accounts remain unclear.
The magistrate confirmed the suspension of his Twitter account through a publication on Facebook, a social network in which his profile has not yet been blocked. In the post, Valois said he did not know the reasons for suspending his account on the social network.
He also said that he would respect the CNJ’s decision and would move away from other social networks such as Instagram and Facebook, which at the time of publication were not suspended.
Until this Tuesday night (17), only Facebook had not suspended the judge’s account.
“I don’t know the reason yet, I haven’t been subpoenaed, but even out of respect for the CNJ’s decision, I won’t manifest myself on the networks even with the account not yet blocked. You will not see from me any complaints or accusations of people. If institutionally I made a mistake, let it be resolved fairly”, said Valois.
Arrest of protesters
The CNJ’s determination to suspend Luís Carlos Valois’ accounts came after the Judge’s recent publications on social networks about the Brazilian prison system.
In the posts, Valois wrote about the arrests of protesters supporting former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who starred in scenes of violence and destruction at the headquarters of the Three Powers, on January 8, in Brasília.
In one of the posts, he criticizes the use of cell phones by the arrested protesters, during their detention in a gym in Brasília. “As the cell phone is an instrument or evidence of the crime, it must be seized.”
Luís Carlos Valois is known for his work as a guarantor judge and defender of human rights. He also gained visibility by being active on social media.
