Manaus (AM) – Councilor Sassá of Civil Construction (PT) requested, this Monday (05), the analysis of the suspension of the contract by Amazonas Energia, to the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), for failing to comply with a series of items in the contract to provide the service in Amazonas, at the Municipality of Manaus (CMM).

In a speech, the councilor again denounced the way in which the concessionaire treats its consumers, mainly in the case of overhead meters. Sassá stated that the company’s marketing strategy to get approval only demonstrates the lack of empathy with consumers who pay their bills correctly, even with the poor services provided.

“The company’s marketing always claims that it has losses with “cats”, which is not true. It doesn’t harm anything, because who pays in the end, with or without the air meters, is the consumer who honors his commitments and that’s not right, because I don’t have to pay for what I don’t consume”,

stated.

The parliamentarian informed that he will request the breach of contract of Amazonas Energia with the Agency and meanwhile they will continue working so that the population is not harmed by the company. The nomination should be evaluated by the plenary this week.

In a statement to In timecouncilor Rodrigo Guedes (Patriota), said he was not informed about information about the breach of contract with the concessionaire, but that he was always against the privatization of this service.

“I was actually against this privatization, which is proving to be very clearly bad for the population. There are issues in the country that in fact cannot be touched, in my view, by the public authorities, but in this case more specifically, privatization has proven to be clearly disastrous for the population and if somehow the reverse process happens, I do support it”,
