Brasilia DF) – At the inauguration ceremony of the 513 federal deputies, held this Wednesday (1), opposition parliamentarians staged a protest against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in the Chamber Plenary. The deputy re-elected by Amazonas, Captain Alberto Neto (PL) participated in the movement organized by parliamentarians of the PL, who raised posters with the phrases “out Lula” and “out thief”.
On social networks, Alberto Neto published photos participating in the protest against Lula. In one of the images, he appears alongside federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-PJ).
Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), Capitão Alden (PL-BA), Amália Barros (PL-MT), Hélio Lopes (PL-RJ) and Rodolfo Nogueira (PL) also participated in the act. -MS).
According to political scientist Carlos Santiago, demonstrations by parliamentarians within the plenary session against the president of the republic, and even against the opposing bench and the president of the Chamber, are common actions and “always happened”.
“Especially, at the time of political clash, of ideological division as it happens today and also when it involves agendas that divide society such as pension reform, labor reform and will also be the stage of many demonstrations the tax reform if it goes to vote”, he explained .
At the same time, as democracy accepts demonstrations, freedom of expression and organization, the political scientist highlighted that offenses, slander and aggression are not part of the democratic game. He also pointed out that hardly a deputy is punished for demonstrating within the Plenary.
“So, if president Lula feels attacked by the congressmen who used signs against him in the plenary of the chamber, he will take the appropriate legal measures. There is parliamentary immunity for the exercise of the mandate and for the deputy to express himself freely, but this immunity does not authorize aggression and slander”
For the scientist Helso Ribeiro, the opposition is part of democracy, and he argues that it is possible to do it respectfully. In this situation, however, he analyzed that the act of the parliamentarians reached the field of disrespect, but would not characterize it as a breach of decorum.
“I don’t see respect in a demonstration in this sense, and I don’t consider it legitimate. You cannot want legitimacy to give in to bigotry. So, what is intolerance I do not see with legitimacy”, he stressed.
