Parliamentarian seeks to unite bases to strengthen the right during the elections
Manaus (AM) – The dispute for Manaus City Hall is in a fierce scenario with the signaling of another pre-candidacy, that of federal deputy Captain Alberto Neto (PL). The name of the parliamentarian is available to the Liberal Party to run in the 2024 elections.
“The project of the right and the PL is unity on all bases. We remain united under the command of President Bolsonaro to emerge victorious in the largest number of municipalities in the elections. Strong and united, this is how the right will contest the elections in 2024,”
highlighted.
According to Alberto Neto, representatives of the party, including former president Jair Bolsonaro, will be at his side in support to strengthen the candidacy in Manauara Square.
The parliamentarian forms the support base for right-wing movements. On Sunday (10), he participated in the delegation of Brazilian politicians who attended the inauguration of the ultra-right Argentine president, Javier Milei. Among those present were Jair, Flávio and Eduardo Bolsonaro, and the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).
In addition to Alberto Neto, another member of the Manaus right-wing is Coronel Menezes, who ran for the position of senator in the last election, in 2022. The politician is also close to the former president, which characterized a dilemma as to which name to support.
The last stimulated poll of voting intentions released by Perspectiva – Market e Opinião, in November, shows Alberto Neto in sixth place with 3.7%, behind current mayor David Almeida (Avante), 31.5%; Amom Mandel (Citizenship), 27.1%; Coronel Menezes, 6.7%; Roberto Cidade (UB), 4.2%; and, Arthur Neto (PSDB), 3.9%.
