AGU presents crime news against Gustavo Gayer

The Attorney General’s Office (AGU) forwarded, this Monday (3), a criminal notice to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) against federal deputy Gustavo Gayer (PL-GO) and Rodrigo Barbosa Arantes, presenter of the program Três Irmãos Podcast, for statements considered racist.

For the AGU, the statements by the deputy and the presenter about the cognitive capacity of Africans, during the program aired on June 23, were discriminatory. “The demonstration is clearly discriminatory, as it differentiates the cognitive capacity of human beings considering their African origin, a continent in which the majority of the population is known to be black, concluding that they would not be able to understand a democratic regime”, concluded the organ.

The criminal notice must be analyzed by the Attorney General of the Republic. The document was prepared by the National Prosecutor’s Office of the Union for the Defense of Democracy (PNDD), which emerged in the PT government with the aim of defending authorities in judicial or extrajudicial proceedings involving “disinformation about public policies”.

A People’s Gazette got in touch with the deputy’s advisory to find out if he would take a position on the crime news, but has yet to hear back. Last week, the Goiás parliamentarian responded to criticism by saying that his demonstration was taken out of context. “The complete lack of ability on the left to interpret [da] my speech about low IQ being fundamental to create a dictatorship is the perfect proof that I am right”, wrote the congressman in his Twitter profile.
