AGU notifies five more public bodies about civil servants accused of acts of January 8

The Advocacy General of the Union announced this Wednesday (12) that it notified five more entities and public bodies from states and municipalities about public servants who were made defendants for participating in the acts of January 8, in Brasília. It is the second batch of notifications for the departments to adopt measures against those cited.

According to the AGU, the civil servants cited in the actions are part of the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, the Federal District Court of Auditors, Cemig (Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais), Hospital Foundation of Minas Gerais and the Autonomous Service of Water and Sewage of Rio das Stones.

The AGU states in the documents that “not only the Union, but also the Federal District, states and municipalities must defend democracy and act cooperatively on the subject”. The defendants cited in the notifications had their complaints filed by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) accepted by the Federal Supreme Court (STF) in the inquiries that investigate the alleged instigators and executors of the acts.

The STF has already judged criminal actions against 1,290 people, with 250 still in prison.
