The organization of the International Fair of Agricultural Technology in Action (Agrishow) decided to cancel the opening ceremony of the event, which would take place on the night of this Monday (1st). The decision was taken after a malaise with the federal government generated by the confirmation of the presence of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

The Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, decided not to attend the fair, the main one in the sector in Latin America, after the management of the event suggested that he not be at the opening due to the turmoil or embarrassment that could be generated with the presence of Bolsonaro , political opponent of the current government. On Friday (28), the Minister of the Communication Secretariat, Paulo Pimenta, stated that Banco do Brasil would suspend its sponsorship of Agrishow due to the controversy.

The event will be held in Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo, under the organization of five entities: Brazilian Association of Agribusiness (Abag), Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment Industry (Abimaq), National Association for the Diffusion of Fertilizers (Anda) , Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of São Paulo (Faesp) and Brazilian Rural Society (SRB).
