After record, Athletico tries to increase unbeaten record in the Arena

After breaking a historic record with 28 matches without losing in the Campeonato Paranaense, now the Athletico tries to increase a long unbeaten run within the Ligga Arena.

Furacão has not lost at home in seven months, 18 matches (13 games in 2023, in addition to five in 2024). The last defeat at home was on July 12 last year against Flamengo, 2-0, in the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil.

If we only count the State matches, the taboo is almost two years. The last defeat was to rival Coritiba 2-1, on March 23, 2022, in the tournament semi-final. Since then, there have been 10 wins and four draws in 14 games at the Ligga Arena.

Among Series A teams, Furacão’s unbeaten run as home team is no longer than Atlético-GO and Vitória’s eight months – both were in the Premier League last year. The three teams, however, have the same 18 games without losing in front of their fans.

Undefeated in the current edition of the State Championship, Athletico ends the first phase against São Joseense on Sunday (25), at 4pm, at home. Furacão has 22 points and needs to win to confirm first place without depending on other results. See what’s at stake in the 11th round.
