After Dino ignored the hearing, the Chamber committee approved a new call for the minister

The Chamber’s Public Security and Combating Organized Crime Committee approved this Tuesday (10) a new call to hear the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino. The request was presented by federal deputy Paulo Bilynskyj (PL-SP). As it is a summons, the minister must necessarily attend the session.

However, Dino missed the hearing he had been summoned to, scheduled for this morning, to provide clarifications on various matters. The president of the committee, deputy Sanderson (PL-RS), was informed of the minister’s absence only at 9:27 am, and the start of the meeting was scheduled for 9 am – which was considered disrespectful by the deputies.

In the letter sent to the commission, the Ministry of Justice said that Dino was unable to appear before the commission because he was involved in the operation carried out by the Federal Police, and that he needed administrative measures. In the request, Bilynskyj asked that Dino be summoned to clarify a speech, “delivered on September 24th, in which he attributes responsibility to the Bolsonaro government for the wave of violence in Bahia”.

“Unfortunately, criminal organizations have become much stronger in recent years. They increased access to weapons because of a wrong policy in our country”, the minister told journalists on the 24th of last month. The commission president criticized Dino’s absence this Tuesday.

“I confess that I had not witnessed a government and a Minister of Justice so unprepared, arrogant and disrespectful towards Brazilian society. He doesn’t know anything about public safety, nothing. His secretaries who advise him know nothing. He is not fit to be Minister of Justice, much less of the Federal Supreme Court,” said Sanderson.
