After censorship, profiles resume video of Benedito Gonçalves’ son

After censorship, social media profiles resumed sharing a video in which Felipe Brandão – son of the minister of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Benedito Barbosa – appears sporting designer clothes and accessories valued at more than R$1 million.

The video was removed from social media last week, by order of judge Flávia Babu Capanema Tancredo, of the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice (TJ-RJ).

In the decision, the judge considered that the objective of the video was to ridicule Felipe and target third parties, including minister Benedito Gonçalves.

The video was originally posted by Dutch influencer Anthony Kruijver Fashion and quickly went viral on TikTok. As reported by People’s Gazetteas of Saturday afternoon (13), the video had 211.8 thousand views on the social network.

The content shows the son of minister Benedito Gonçalves with a woman and a child dressed from head to toe in designer clothes and accessories that together could cost more than R$1.2 million.

In the video posted on the profile that brings together fashion content, they describe the items smiling and say that they are from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Felipe Brandão introduces himself as a businessman who buys and sells luxury watches.

Censorship, however, had the opposite effect. Several social media profiles started sharing the video with Felipe Brandão.

“Just to help our efficient Justice in Brazil. This is the video you are prohibited from sharing,” wrote deputy Gustavo Gayer (PL-GO) when sharing the video on the social network X. To date, the deputy’s publication has 476.2 thousand views.

Another profile only shared the news of the banning of the video, on Saturday (13), and It already has 314.9 thousand views on the social network X.

Next, Ruschel recalled that minister Benedito Gonçalves was caught in a friendly atmosphere with Lula during the inauguration of minister Alexandre de Moraes at the TSE, in August 2022.

In the video that went viral on social media, Lula pats Gonçalves on the face and asks him to “call”.

“For those who don’t remember, the minister was the rapporteur of actions against Bolsonaro and his allies during the elections, which led to the censorship of various content produced by conservatives. Subsequently, the former president was sentenced to ineligibility for 8 years, in two of these actions. Shortly before the election, at a reception in Brasília, he was greeted by Lula with pats on his face, reciprocating with the phrase ‘everything is at home'”, said Ruschel in a post on the social network X that has already surpassed 800,000 views.

When commenting on Ruschel’s publication, singer Roger Moreira shared the censored video with the minister’s son.

Other profiles continue to share Felipe Brandão’s video and criticize the TJ-RJ judge’s decision, considered by jurists as an act of censorship.
