This is how the minister of integration and regional development, Waldez Góes, reacted to the acquittal in which he was the protagonist in a decision by the 1st panel of the STF, yesterday, regarding an appeal against the conviction imposed on him by the STJ, in 2019, for embezzlement, in the exercise of the governor of the state of Amapá.
The lawsuit against Waldez went on for 11 years. He had been coming since 2012, when, within the scope of state justice, he was accused of withholding and diverting amounts intended for the payment of payroll loans from Amapá government servants, between 2009 and 2010.
During all this time, the situation of the then governor of Amapá and today minister of state depended on deadlines of justice until the outcome caused by the decision of the Federal Supreme Court, on Tuesday, 6th, which can no longer be appealed.
On the LuizMeloEntrevista program (Diário FM 90.9), this morning, Waldez Góes recalled that during the 11 years of accusation and after conviction against him, he disputed elections, always having to face attacks from opponents, accusing him of embezzlement public, having the judicial process on embezzlement as a basis for the arguments.
“I have always made it clear, in my statements, and also in court, that my actions followed the line of rectitude”, recalled the current minister of integration and regional development, to say that he did not practice embezzlement, that he did not commit a single penny of the money. public.
“And now the time has come for justice, for the truth”, said Waldez, who thanked his family, friends and everyone who trusted his word and work with the use of funds from the loans earmarked for the priority payment of the civil servants’ salaries, in the Renda para Viver Melhor program, in health, education and only after that to the banks.
“Justice has been done; carry on with life”, celebrated Waldez Góes, emphasizing that his mission, now, is ministerial, as head of the portfolio of integration and regional development, seeking to act with righteousness for the good of Brazil and, in particular, for the good of Amapá .
The minister, still in the interview, presented Amapá as a state very well represented, throughout Brazil, by himself, by senators Davi Alcolumbre, Randolfe Rodrigues and Lucas Barreto, and by the entire federal parliamentary group, as well as by the attorney of justice, Ivana Cei, who today sits on the National Council of State and Union Public Prosecutors.
