In the program ‘Togas and Gowns’ (Diary FM 90.9) this Saturday, the 4th, Dr. Adão told a little bit of his story. It’s the day after his inauguration as president of the Court of Justice of Amapá (Tjap).
Adam Carvalho found out about the public competition for a judge in Amapá, in Rio de Janeiro, in the footer of an edition of Official Journal of Justice which he, at the end of 1990, leafed through in the department where he worked.
He was immediately interested in the contest. But soon after, realizing reality, he saw that Amapá was at the other end of the country, very far away, a long and expensive trip, and he had no money.
But, persistently, he decided to get rid of the car, the only material thing of greater good that he had at the time. She approached the vehicle and said: “Yes, my friend, unfortunately we will have to part”.
AND Adam he left for Amapá. He took the exam, passed and has been doing this for 31 years in the state, having been a judge in Oiapoque, Ferreira Gomes, Laranjal do Jari, Santana and Macapá.

Adão spent two years and six months in the border town, where he got to know all the indigenous villages there. He also presided over the 1992 election, which was held using paper ballots.
He still knew how to live with the respect and enforcement of the law with the legendary mayor Maria Bezerra, wife of then state deputy Milton Bezerra. This couple was famous because they would treat their enemies, killing them personally or having them killed.
As president of Tjap, the judge Adam promises that it will basically continue all the projects left by its predecessor Rommel Araujo, and some still from the time of the judge’s management John Lages.
The president intends, on Wednesday the 8th, when the Court of Justice will pay homage to International Women’s Day, to start broadcasting on Justice TV in all plenary sessions.
Adam Carvalho, among other plans and projects, in addition to the primary purpose of the Tjap, which is to bring Justice to the population, without distinction, it also intends to start expanding the building of the Court of Justice of Amapá.
He describes the work as “a spectacular thing, with six floors, socio-environmental standards, accessibility, solar energy and water collection, among other modern instruments”.
