The 78-year-old actress suffered from lung cancer

Actress Jandira Martini died at the age of 78, the information was confirmed by actor and friend Marcos Caruso, the cause of death has not yet been revealed. According to the newspaper O Globo, the artist was facing lung cancer.

Caruso paid tribute to his friend on his social networks: “Jandira Martini, my greatest friend and proof that opposites attract and complement each other. Together we wrote plays, film scripts, series and soap operas. My great confidant, advisor and responsible for my biggest laughs. My master. Do you know when you pass by the school you studied at and see that the building has been demolished? That’s how I feel about your departure”, declared Marcos Caruso.

Jandira was born in São Paulo and is a strong actress for major soap operas on TV Globo, such as América, Desire prohibited, Caminhos das Indias, Escritos nas Estrelas and Salve Jorge. One of her greatest roles in television drama was Zoraide, in O Clone.

Her last work on screen was the film “Uma Pinch de Sorte”, released in 2022, where the mother of the protagonist played by Fabiana Karla played. Information about the actress’s wake and burial has not yet been released.
