Academia Stem/UEA holds a technology event for high school students in Manaus

The event will take place on March 30th and 31st, at the Stem building located at EST, and is aimed at high school students

Manaus (AM) – The Stem Academy of the Superior School of Technology of the State University of Amazonas (EST/UEA) holds, on March 30th and 31st, the Amazon Stem Adventures (Asad).

The event, produced by the research and development (R&D) project Academia Stem da UEA, was created for high school students with the aim of encouraging the development of skills focused on technology, such as 3D modeling, robotics, 3D printing and programming.

Those interested in participating can obtain more information by accessing the event notice through the link To validate participation, it is important that teams of eight participants are registered, totaling seven students and one teacher per team. Each registered group must also propose a project, created with the aim of solving a problem faced by today’s society, within the areas of sustainability, industry 4.0 or innovation.

According to professor Adan Medeiros, coordinator of the initiative, the purpose of Asad is to offer an environment that encourages the exchange of knowledge through teamwork, a sense of collaboration and integration between students, professors, researchers and multidisciplinary professionals, resulting in solutions development.

During the event, a space will be made available for participating teams to hold meetings and implement their ideas. The place will be equipped with access to the electrical network, wi-fi internet connection, interactive whiteboard and notebooks. The use of laser cutting machines, 3D printers, electronic components, Arduino microcontrollers and consumables, such as MDF in the laser cutting machine, and filaments in the 3D printer will also be made available, under supervision.

Asad is an initiative of Pilar Atração, a segment of the Academia Stem project, which aims to bring high school students closer to the areas of innovation and technology, in order to facilitate their entry into university.
