the deputy Acácio Favacho (MDB-AP) was elected this Wednesday (29), unanimously, president of the Urban Development Committee of the Chamber. The board also elected deputy Carlos Chiodini (MDB-SC) for the position of 1st Vice President. The two remaining positions (2nd and 3rd Vice Presidents) will be voted on at another date.
The new president stated that his mandate will be marked by the participation of all parties in the debates and in the appointment of rapporteurs. He also said that the commission will play a relevant role this year.
“I believe that this commission will be of great importance, considering that the federal government has reorganized its organization chart. We have the Ministry of Cities to debate”he said Favacho.
Among the topics that should be discussed by the collegiate, he listed the new configuration of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida Program and the extinction of the National Health Foundation (Funasa), adopted by provisional measures of the current government (respectively MPs 1162/23 and 1156/ 23).

Created in 1985, the Urban Development Commission debates and votes proposals on urban planning, urban land use, housing, sanitation, urban transport and city infrastructure, among others.
The commission was the only one not yet installed this year. The other 29 permanent committees of the Chamber have already elected their presidents.
