The Urban Development Commission (CDU) approved, this Wednesday (24), the invitation to the President of Ibama, Rodrigo Augustine, to clarify the rejection of Petrobras’ license request for offshore drilling activity in block FZA-M-59, located in the Foz do Amazonas basin. The invitation is the result of a request by Deputy Acácio Favacho (MDB/AP).

“Oil, yes! Unfortunately, Amapá is the third state with the highest unemployment rate in Brazil, according to the recent National Household Sample Survey (PNAD) released by the IBGE. Oil will bring jobs and economic development to our state. I do not agree with Ibama’s decision to deny Petrobras the license for gas and oil exploration on the equatorial margin of Amapá”, affirm.

Acácio defends the economic importance that the activities of the state oil company represent for the urban development of that region. At the last meeting of the Federal Bench of Amapá, the deputy warned about the importance of writing an open letter to the Federal Government in defense of gas and oil exploration in Amapá.

At the CDU, another request was also approved by the deputy dealing with the public hearing to discuss the impacts of Provisional Measure No. 1156/23, which provides for the extinction of the National Health Foundation (Funasa), to invite the following authorities: Minister of Cities , Jader Filho; Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Cities, Hildo Rocha; National Secretary of Environmental Sanitation, Leonardo Picciani; and the Director of Funasa’s Extinction Department, Vitor Hugo Mosquera.

“CDU has the role of overseeing and monitoring public policies aimed at urban and regional development, which is why the proposed requirement is a way of fulfilling this role, ensuring transparency and responsibility in the management of public resources and in the implementation of public policies. that directly affect the quality of life and well-being of the population”, explains.

The deputy has already addressed the issue, the extinction of Funasa, in a public hearing at the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amapá (ALAP), together with the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Cities, Hildo Rocha, to write a letter to the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services to discuss solutions for reorganization and on the salary loss of Funasa employees.
