The Lula (PT) government sent this Thursday (28) to the Swiss embassy the watch brought to Brazil by Dom João 6º, in 1808, which was displayed at the Palácio do Planalto and was damaged during the coup demonstrations that took place in Brasília in the January 8th.
According to a source at Palácio do Planalto, the piece will be sent to Switzerland for restoration thanks to a cooperation signed between the two countries. The time for concluding the agreement is allocated to bureaucratic procedures.
The restoration work will be carried out by the artisans at Audemars Piguet & Cie.
The only example of the piece in the world, the object was broken on the day that the headquarters of the three Powers were invaded and vandalized by supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
The hands and numbers of the clock were torn off and a statue that adorned the top of the piece was torn off.
