The January 8 CPI approved this Tuesday (20) the summons of the former minister of the GSI (Institutional Security Office) Gonçalves Dias, the former head of Abin (Brazilian Intelligence Agency) Saulo Moura da Cunha and the colonel of the Jean Laland Junior Army.
Lawand came under the CPI’s crosshairs after the PF (Federal Police) identified a series of messages in which the military suggested to Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) former assistant Mauro Cid that he help the then president to “give an order” to action by the Armed Forces against the election of Lula (PT).
“I, together with the rapporteur, agreed with the approval in understanding, by agreement, of the call request of GDias and Saulo Moura. And, also by agreement, to place an item outside the agenda, to call Jean Lawand Júnior” , said the president of the group, Arthur Maia (União-BA).
Last week, the Sheet revealed that the then GSI minister ordered Abin to omit from Congress intelligence information sent before the invasion by the three Powers. At the time, the agency was under the command of Cunha, Abin’s deputy director.
The CPI also approved the sharing of information from the STF (Federal Supreme Court) related to the January 8 attack. Parliamentarians requested access to inquiries numbered 4,879, 4,917, 4,918, 4,919, 4,920, 4,921, 4,922, 4,923.
