The city of Macapá is about to complete its 265 years and to celebrate this special date, a vast cultural and sports program will be made for the citizens to enjoy.

In all, there will be 30 presentations by local artists, the traditional Thanksgiving Mass at São José Cathedral and sports activities. Furthermore, the national show will be on account of Joelma, closing the night of the 4th, the anniversary of the city.

The program for the 1st City of Macapá Sports Festival begins at 6:15 am on the 4th, when the Macapá 265 Years Street Race starts, which will run for 7 km and 1,500 runners. At 7 am, the Cycling Tour will start, which will be 35 km long and will pass through several points in the capital.

“You can expect a big mobilization from the City Hall. Let’s have a big party. The sports activities have limited spaces and it is good to register soon”said the municipal coordinator of Sport and Leisure (Comel), Bruno Church.

In addition to the Run and Cycling Tour, there will be tournaments in basketball, futlama, sand/court volleyball, futsal, skateboarding, bench press and squats, soccer, cycling, basketball on wheels and footvolley.
