This content is about a fact that is still being investigated by the newsroom. Soon we will have more information.
Lawyer Cristiano Zanin, nominated to occupy a vacancy on the Federal Supreme Court (STF), said during his presentation on Saturday at the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ) this Wednesday (21), that he is committed to the plurality of ideas and willingness to listen to all sides. In a speech marked by the defense of the Constitution, he presented himself as “a humble lawyer and defender of the democratic rule of law”.
Throughout his 20-minute presentation, he stated that he does not accept pressure and that he will defend the freedom of expression and of the press provided for in the constitutional text. Likewise, he criticized initiatives that lead to state censorship, “but as long as responsibility is not abdicated.” The lawyer also made a nod in favor of the millennium agenda already embraced by the STF, such as environmental sustainability and the eradication of hunger.
In favor of the theses defended by the opposition, Lula’s lawyer and nominee said he agrees with the importance of legal certainty as a way of guaranteeing economic progress and investments. Finally, Zanin made himself available to answer everyone, thanking those who received him in offices.
