The popular action says that the practice goes against the principle of public morality
Brasilia DF) – The federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL), became the target of a popular action in the Federal District Justice for carrying out a crowdfunding to pay the convictions in processes. It raised BRL 168 thousand.
The action takes place at the 14th Federal Court. Lawyers Amaury Soares Marques Junior and José Antonio Rolo Fachada ask the parliamentarian to return all the money, claiming that the practice goes against the principle of public morality.
“Although no crime or typical action can be seen, in the act contested here, in which a parliamentarian, using this condition, resorts to a network called ‘vakinha’ in order to raise money from the taxpayer to settle her personal commitments, its immorality is undeniable, reason enough for it to be banned,” says the petition.
The crowdfunding was released two weeks ago by the deputy. She said that in the month of April alone, convictions totaled R$54,000.
“I have a TSE lawsuit worth BRL 30,000 and another 20 lawsuits worth BRL 25,000 to BRL 30,000 and I’m probably going to lose several of them because they are lawsuits in which I attacked Lula, in fact. I made this crowdfunding and I want to ask for your help, if you can help it will be very welcome, because I am unable to pay these amounts with my salary”, asked Zambelli.
In the recording, the deputy also mentioned other processes of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) that she will also have to pay. Zambelli referred to the decision of the Electoral Court last week to maintain the fines for her and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) due to the publication of false content about President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), then a candidate for the Planalto.
Last Tuesday, after becoming aware of the BRL 168,000, the parliamentarian said on social media that she will donate the remaining money “to some institution” or save it for future actions.
