During the inauguration ceremony in the Chamber of Deputies, this Wednesday (1), federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) announced the creation of a Conservative Front for Freedom. The front will be made up of non-partisan parliamentarians and “propositional opposition” to the central themes of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s government.

Zambelli will be the president of the political group and said that any deputy who considers himself “conservative” will be able to participate in the front. “When there is something wrong, we will have a group prepared to point out all the flaws and make calls to the Chamber”, she declared.

Federal deputy Bia Kicis (PL-DF) will hold the position of 1st vice-president of the Front, and deputy José Medeiros (PL-MT) will be the 2nd vice-president. Lieutenant Colonel Zucco (Republicanos-RS) will be the spokesperson for the conservative group.

The Front will also have thematic and state coordinators to take care of specific themes, such as Congresswoman Sílvia Waiãpi (PL-AP) who will act on issues related to indigenous freedom.
