One of the most consumed drinks in the world, coffee, celebrated this April 14th as World Coffee Day, has the highest intake rates per person in the world in the Scandinavian countries.

Finland and Sweden lead the ranking of the biggest drinkers on the planet, according to the ICO (International Coffee Organization), which brings together numbers from all nations – referring to the year 2021, the most recent complete period made available by the entity.

Not far behind on the list are Norway and Denmark. What about Brazil, you may be wondering? It doesn’t even appear in the top 10. In fact, of the top ten, only one is not in Europe. It’s another Latin American nation (hint: it’s not Colombia).

Without any more mystery, check out the countries that consume the most coffee in the world below:

In time: the ICO clarifies that there are small nations subject to anomalies, which technically have a higher per capita consumption. However, due to consumption and population sizes, these cannot be considered representative. This is the case, for example, of Luxembourg, Maldives and Belize.

If you think you know everything about coffee, I recommend that you test your knowledge with the list that Coffee in the Press prepared with ten truths that you probably don’t know about the drink. Check out the image gallery below:
