Applicants cannot be illegally in Spanish territory or have a criminal record in Spain or in any country where they have resided for the last five years. There are other requirements, such as having at least three years of proven work experience prior to the visa application date. Digital nomads use technology to travel and work In practice The visa for digital nomads in Spain lasts for one year and can be extended to allow the person to stay in the country for up to five years. Activities are allowed to be carried out for companies that have and those that do not have a physical presence in the territory. Family The approved legislation includes details designed to attract families of digital nomads. You can receive a residence permit or visa for your spouse or person with a similar emotional relationship, children of legal age or minors or people who live with the male or female worker – all gain the right to live and work within Spanish territory. Minimum income There are two minimum income options required, as indicated by the country’s government. The first applies to individual workers, both those who apply for a temporary or residence visa: the digital nomad must receive at least 2,000 euros per month (about R$ 11,000). As for clusters composed of the nomad and a companion, the minimum income to be proven by the worker is 750 euros (about R$ 4110).
