With three belts at stake, SFT 39 opens the organization’s year this Saturday (11)

It’s kickoff time! And opening the year 2023 for one of the fastest growing martial arts organizations in Latin America, SFT 39 takes place this Saturday (11), in São Paulo, with three belt disputes, one in MMA and two in Xtreme. – which consists of striking duels in an octagon and with MMA gloves (4 instead of 10 ounces), without clinch or ground game.

In the main event of the MMA card, Heliton Santos (21w-8l-1e) and Márcio Velaminho (23w-7l) face off for the featherweight belt, which is vacant at the moment. In Xtreme’s main event, Dengue Silva will defend the lightweight title against Gui Carvalho. In the bantamweight division, Carlos Sátiro and Bruno Perna – who replaces Vinicius Moraes – promise a high-level confrontation for the public with the division’s belt at stake.

SFT 39, it is worth noting, will feature 15 fights in all, seven of which will be MMA, seven Xtreme and one submission fight. The event will start at 6 pm (Brasília time) with the preliminary card on YouTube SFTCombat, while the Xtreme main card at 9 pm and the MMA main card at 10:45 pm will be broadcast live on BandTV throughout Brazil.

Featherweight will have new champion

The main event of the SFT 39 card will be the definition of the new MMA featherweight champion, given that the division title, as already mentioned, is vacant. Born in Manaus, Amazonas, Heliton Santos is 32 years old and has a record of 21 wins, eight losses and one draw. Of the 21 triumphs, 15 of them were by knockout, which shows the power of the Amazonian athlete’s hands.

His opponent this Saturday will be Márcio Velaminho from Bahia, who at 34 years of age has 23 positive results and seven setbacks throughout his career in mixed martial arts. Nicknamed “God of War”, Márcio has an MMA record of 11 wins by referee decision, eight by submission and four by knockout.

Xtreme with two belt disputes

The Xtreme main card of SFT 39 will also have other great attractions, with emphasis on two title fights. In the lightweight category, the experienced champion Dengue Silva, who has 38 wins and just three losses to his record, will defend his title against Gui Carvalho from São Paulo, who also has an extensive career in martial arts, with 34 wins and 13 losses.

The other belt will be at stake in the bantamweight division, where Carlos Sátiro, packed with two wins, will face Bruno Perna, who replaces Vinicius Moraes after the fighter from Mato Grosso do Sul fell ill before SFT 39.

Other attractions of the event

In addition to the three belt disputes, SFT 39 has other good attractions throughout the event. On the MMA main card, Andrey Mineiro (13w-4l) will make his debut in the organization chaired by David Hudson facing athlete Fabrício Bakai (16w-7l), who is looking to recover after being defeated in his last fight. In the flyweight division, Denis 3D (17w-5l) will have another participation in the SFT, and this time facing veteran André Dé Loco (12w-11l), the oldest athlete with the most fights in the organization’s history. At welterweight, Rafael Soldado (11w-4l) and Mário Coração Valente (15w-3l) promise an intense confrontation from start to finish.

On the SFT 39 Xtreme card, in addition to the two belt disputes mentioned above, we will have the fight between Beatriz França and Grazielle Gouveia, valid for the flyweight division, in addition to the clash between Alexsander Costelinha and Clayton Oliveira in the welterweight division. The preliminary card will feature eight matches in all, involving MMA, Xtreme and Xtreme semipro. Another highlight is the submission duel between Caio Almeida, leader of the Almeida Jiu-Jitsu team, and Arthur Carvalho, who represents the Carvalho’s Brothers team.
