Entrepreneur Gustavo Ferreira led the action
Last Friday, residents of communities in Rio de Janeiro could count on a solidarity action designed by Carioca businessman Gustavo Ferreira together with former MMA fighter Will Ribeiro to fight hunger. Among the favelas served are Santa Luzia, Cantagalo and Pavão-Pavãozinho.
According to the businessman, who works in the automotive sector, the actions are carried out to reduce the state of vulnerability of community residents. In addition, he explains that, with the partnership with the former MMA athlete, young people are attracted to sports.
“Our intention with the work in the communities of Rio de Janeiro is to minimize the suffering that many have with the lack of adequate food. With the delivery of food we also try to encourage them to practice physical activities through the Will Ribeiro project”, he explained .
According to him, the union of sports is always linked to people’s socialization and this means that practitioners always seek to pass this message on.
“Like Will, I practice combat sports and I believe that this whole culture we carry with us of having discipline and helping people serves as fuel for us to carry out this work”, he said.
In addition to the actions carried out in the neighborhoods with the former fighter, Gustavo says that some other baskets were delivered in other regions, but this time in partnership with the Military Police.
“I think we can never get tired of doing good for people. Whenever I can, I try to do my best to help others. I believe that together we can go far”, he added.
