With six months of existence, team from São Paulo wins 12 medals in the European jiu-Jitsu

One of the great teams that attended the 2023 European Jiu-Jitsu Championship, held by the IBJJF last week in Paris, France, was Fratres BJJ. With about six months of existence, the Morumbi-SP team led by businessman and black belt Daniel Affini added 12 medals with 15 athletes. Among the standouts, well-known names like Rider Zuchi, Natan Chueng, Sábatha Lais, Luis Fernando Cantareira, among others, as well as black belt Amanda Magda, who at age 45 put on a show winning the adult women’s heavyweight title.

Of all the Fratres BJJ athletes who traveled to the 2023 European Championship, only Pedro Elias and Leandro Baião did not make the podium, but they promise to come back stronger throughout the season. The overall result, of course, was celebrated by Affini.

“As a whole, the championship was very nice, well organized, in a great location and mainly disputed, bringing together renowned athletes at the tip of their hooves. For our part, I highlight Rider, Cantareira, Amanda, Sábatha and Natan, who reached their finals at black belt, in addition to Lucas Maquiné, silver at brown belt, but he fought a lot. Names like Marcos Petcho, Wellington Alemão and others also had good campaigns. We left satisfied, but it could have been better”, analyzed Daniel Affini, who completed:

“Rider is a special case, he always stands out, he won bronze at weight and came back with everything in the absolute, winning silver; Amanda Magda is another who deserves applause, being European champion in the adult category at the age of 45, inspiring other women; and Cantareira has been growing more and more, for sure it will be one of the big names of the season”.

Regarding the next steps for Fratres BJJ in 2023, Daniel confirmed the team in the main events, such as the Brazilian CBJJ, but he stressed: “Our focus is on consolidating Fratres as one of the great teams in the country and in the world, competing more and more more championships and achieve good results,” he concluded.
