With no replacement for Renato Augusto, Corinthians must have a bit of a “chameleon”

Corinthians beat Cruzeiro by 2 to 1 this Sunday afternoon (16), but the performance did not convince the majority of their fans. Therefore, coach Fernando Lázaro had to answer questions about how to assemble the midfield in the absence of Renato Augusto and stated that the sector should be somewhat ‘chameleon’, alternating according to the opponent.

It goes through everything, Renato is different and brings a specific characteristic. In his absence, other athletes bring other characteristics. This will be part of our choices, it is not something definitive and not just for this game. The participation of several athletes allows us to make these choices”, said the coach.

Renato Augusto remains without a replacement. Giuliano had the mission against Cruzeiro, but was injured in the first half.

Duo Fausto Vera and Matheus Araújo appears as an option. In the second stage, Lázaro advanced the two and the young midfielder with the Argentine in the goal that paved the way for victory.

Cantillo also gained morale. The Colombian has been coming in well and adjusting Timão’s game output. He replaced Roni at half-time and the team improved in the second half.

“Cantillo started again very well and is an athlete who brings a characteristic of possession and quality in ball circulation.
