The game
The first half followed the expected script. Fluminense dominated ball possession, while Corinthians positioned themselves in a back block, speculating on counterattacks. At the beginning of the game, Timão behaved well and suffered little, but from the middle of the first stage, Tricolor Carioca grew with dangerous finalizations.
In the 25th minute, Ganso served Lima on the right side, which he passed to Samuel Xavier with danger, to Cássio’s defence. Soon afterwards, André finished from outside the area in the left corner but had another intervention from the number 12. Meanwhile, Corinthians looked for stretched balls for Adson on the right or for the attacking duo, with little success.
