Target this Wednesday (5th) of a Federal Police operation under suspicion of electoral crimes, coach Pablo Marçal was convicted in 2010 for participating in a gang that embezzled money from banks, led a frustrated expedition to a mountainous area of ​​SP in 2022 and had its name associated with the death of a service provider during a race organized by its employees in 2023.

The PF is now investigating whether he also committed the crimes of ideological falsehood, money laundering and embezzlement in the 2022 elections.

After the operation, the coach said on social media that he is the target of “political persecution”.

In 2010, Marçal was convicted of participating in a gang that embezzled money from banks in mid-2005, when he was 18 years old.

The group created fake websites for financial institutions such as Caixa and Banco do Brasil, sent emails falsely accusing victims of default and stole information by infecting computers with programs known as Trojan horses.

According to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, Marçal captured emails from victims for one of the organization’s leaders, Pastor Danilo de Oliveira, in addition to repairing the criminals’ computers.

Marçal admits that he collaborated with the group, but says he was unaware of the illegal acts. His sentence was extinguished in 2018 by retroactive prescription.

Expedition rescued by firefighters

Marçal gained notoriety in January 2022 for having led an expedition through a mountainous area in São Paulo, 2,420 meters above the sea, as part of his motivational coaching program.

Ignoring safety rules and warnings from specialized guides, he endangered the lives of a group of people inexperienced in mountaineering at Pico dos Marins, in the Mantiqueira range.

After facing heavy rains and winds, at risk of death from hypothermia, they had to be rescued by the Fire Department.

Of the original group, 32 people were saved by the firefighters and 28 managed to give up in time.

In May 2022, Marçal launched himself as a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the Pros, backed by the former leadership of the party which, as shown by the Sheet in reports, she is suspected of having tried to buy favorable judicial decisions.

In one of the audios obtained by Sheet, the then president of Pros, Marcus Holanda, says that Pablo had promised him BRL 200 million from a “vacona” of BRL 100 or BRL 200 that he would carry out with students of motivational courses and with his then more than 2 million of followers on Instagram. Pablo denies it.

Upon seeing his candidacy for the Presidency unfeasible, the coach started to support Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and launched himself as a federal deputy, having obtained 243 thousand votes. The party leadership ended up being removed and the Pros, under a new command, formally joined Lula’s (PT) campaign.

On October 30, 2022, the then Minister of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) Ricardo Lewandowski rejected the coach’s candidacy registration for the Chamber of Deputies. With the decision, federal deputy Paulo Teixeira (PT-SP), who was considered elected and later lost the seat to Marçal because of the retargeting of votes, was re-elected.

In a lecture at the Christ Summit, a conference for Christian entrepreneurs, on June 2 of this year, the coach said he had not given up on the Planalto Palace. He said he was the target of persecution for his electoral aspirations: “Believers weren’t enough, now politics. They’re turning my life upside down because they know that one day I’m going to be president of Brazil.”

Death of service provider

On June 5, a service provider for one of the companies linked to Pablo Marçal, Bruno da Silva Teixeira, 26, died during a street race held in Alphaville, in Barueri (SP).

Bruno was running with a group of employees from XGrow, a company created by Pablo Marçal that is now run by his partner, when he had a sudden illness and fell. He suffered cardiac arrest and was driven to the hospital, where doctors tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead.

The race, according to family members, was organized by coach employees. The climb was part of the “The Worst Year of Your Life” program, one of the many mentorships in which Marçal guides employees and students to experience extreme situations in order to overcome limits, learn to make difficult decisions and become rich.

Prohibited from returning to Pico dos Marins since the rescue episode, Marçal had changed the focus of the challenges and had started to encourage employees and followers to break their limits in long distance races.

According to Bruno Teixeira’s brothers, the group left the International Platform building, which belongs to Pablo Marçal, with the challenge of running, at the last minute, 42 kilometers, the equivalent of a marathon. Marçal was not in the group. However, days before, the influencer claimed to have completed that same distance in a challenge he called the “Worst Race of Your Life”.

“My mother is not the mother of a weakling. My father is not the father of a sucker. My grandmother is not a muggle’s grandmother”, says the influencer in a post in which he boasts of completing the marathon.

Friends of Marçal say he has never been a marathon runner and doubt that he actually finished the course.

On June 26, the coach is said to have honored Bruno by writing his name on his “best running shoe”.
