Starting this Tuesday (12), WhatsApp will allow you to pin a message in conversations on the app. The option applies to private and group chats.
The new feature will be launched globally over the next few days. To receive the feature, the user must keep the application updated, on the Play Store (for Android smartphone owners) or on the App Store (for iPhones).
On Telegram, this feature has been available since last year.
To pin a message, the user must press the bubble and select ‘Pin’ from the options menu. A banner will appear with duration options of your choice – 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days. Seven days is the default choice.
“The function helps users save time to find important messages more easily,” says the WhatsApp statement. The option applies to text, poll, image and emoji submissions and does not compromise end-to-end encryption.
In groups, admins have the option to select whether all members or just admins can pin a message.
