The new king of America will no longer be known on November 11th at Maracanã. Conmebol announced this Monday (24th) that the final scheduled for the stadium in Rio will take place a week earlier, on day 4, also a Saturday. The decision for the Copa Sudamericana is set for October 28, in Montevideo.
“The most important tournaments at club level in South America, the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana, will have their finals on November 4th October 28, respectively,” announced Conmebol on its official website.
The entity also released all the dates of the first phase. The third round of the group stage of the two competitions takes place next week, between May 2nd and 4th. After a two-week break, round 4 takes place, between the 23rd and 25th.
Another 15 days of break and round 5 comes, already in July, between the 6th and 8th. The definition of all classifieds is scheduled for the 20th, 21st and 22nd of the same month. On the 21st of July, the draw is scheduled to determine the crosses for the round of 16.
The Copa Sudamericana will have one more stage, with the runners-up playing a knockout playoff with whoever comes third in the Libertadores. These teams face each other between the 12th, 13th and 14th (one way) and the 19th, 20th and 21st of July, when the 16 teams that move forward will be defined. Rounds will also be drawn.
