Ex-Athletico, the striker Victor Roque debuted with the shirt of Barcelona this Thursday (4). Wearing the number 19 shirt, he got his first opportunity from coach Xavi Hernández in the 2-1 victory over Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, in a game that closed the 19th round of the Spanish Championship.
Barça came up behind on the scoreboard. The home team opened the scoring with Munir El Haddadi. Afterwards, the Catalan team drew with Ferrán Torres. At lights out, with a penalty kick, Gundogan made it 2-1.
Victor Roque started the duel on the bench. The Brazilian came on in the 32nd minute of the second half replacing the Spaniard Ferrán Torres. “Tigrinho” entered his position, as a center forward, and missed two great opportunities in the final minutes (see the video below). In the first, he took it from the goalkeeper, and the ball skimmed the post. In the second, he ended up being blocked by the marking.
Vitor Roque was announced on December 25th as a Christmas gift to Barcelona fans, lacking idols after many injuries and a few departures. It will be officially presented to the press on Friday (5).
After 19 months wearing the Furacão shirt, Roque said goodbye to the club in the victory over Santos, at Arena da Baixada, in the penultimate round of the Brasileirão. The biggest signing and also the biggest sale in Furacão’s history, the striker played in 81 matches, with 28 goals and 11 assists. Since his arrival, in April 2022, there have been 600 days at the club. Furacão signed him for R$24 million and sold him for another R$390 million.
