Vidal again shows dissatisfaction at Flamengo and raises concern

Arturo Vidal became a cause for concern in the Flamengo on the eve of their debut in the Club World Cup. The Chilean midfielder again showed dissatisfaction at the club, on Wednesday night (1st), in the second half of the 1-0 victory over Boavista, in the Carioca Championship.

On the bench, the player was caught on camera showing irritation by not entering the game. He even threw a boot off the bench around the 35th minute of the second half, after coach Vítor Pereira promoted the last substitutions in the team.

Before the match, Vidal had already drawn the attention of the Red-Black crowd by indicating that he was willing to leave the club. During a live broadcast on social media, the steering wheel offered to play in Colo-Colo, team where he played in the base categories and where he emerged in his country.

“Anything can happen, anything can happen. If Colo-Colo wants to fight for the Libertadores, let them come and get me and let’s go. Right, my love?”, said the player, referring to his wife during the broadcast.

Vidal has been an option on the bench since Vítor Pereira took charge of the team at the beginning of the year. In total, he adds 28 games for the Brazilian team, 12 of which as a starter. At the end of Wednesday’s match, the coach commented on the Chilean’s dissatisfaction, but avoided causing controversy.

“One or another player is dissatisfied is a natural thing because we have to make decisions based on what we analyze and the idea we have of the players who are most able to help the team at the moment. We have to put the team and the club above everyone else personal ambitions”, declared the coach.

When asked about the live transmission of the steering wheel, Vítor Pereira dodged. “I don’t know what you’re talking about because I don’t have social networks. My Instagram is my child and I don’t read anything or worry about it because I have to worry, above all, about the team. This question has to be asked to Vidal. He’s in the group to travel tomorrow (Thursday) and it’s in our plans, of course.”

Vidal’s demonstrations of dissatisfaction also caused discomfort in the Flamengo squad. Also questioned on the subject, midfielder Everton Ribeiro lamented the teammate’s episode of irritation during the second half against Boavista

“He’s a great player, competitive, he wants to play. Unfortunately, he had a moment of dissatisfaction and ended up showing it. We know it’s not the best time to do it, we were surprised because he’s a group guy, he’s always working hard to play “, declared the midfielder.

The Flamengo delegation will travel to the Club World Cup, in Morocco, this Thursday (2). The arrival is scheduled for the morning of Friday (3), by Brasilia time. The Brazilian team will debut directly in the semifinal, against the winner of Wydad Casablanca-MAR x Al Hilal-SAU.
