The structure is set up for the LFA 154, which will take place next Friday at the Polvilho gymnasium, in Cajamar, in Greater São Paulo. In addition to the fight for two belts, the edition offers opportunities for Brazilian athletes to show themselves to the world, as the event is broadcast to over 200 countries through UFC Fight Pass, UFC’s official streaming platform.
Since arriving in Brazil in 2021, the LFA has already promoted eight editions on Brazilian soil. Next Friday’s will be the ninth in the country and the third in a row in Cajamar, which joined the North American organization to generate opportunities for professional athletes and encourage young people to seek the path of sports. Vice-president of the LFA in South America, former fighter Rafael Feijão highlighted the partnership.
“The LFA came to Brazil to rescue our protagonism in MMA, giving a stage to our talents that were ‘hidden’ due to the lack of events with international visibility. Not only did we show that it was possible to establish the LFA here, but we also found partners who embraced the idea. One one of them is the mayor of Cajamar Danilo Joan, who also believes in sport as a social tool”, he explained.
“In Cajamar we have a structure that is similar to the editions of the LFA in the USA, which allows us to promote events of the same level. This is essential to prepare our athletes to arrive prepared for events like the UFC, for example. Outside the cage, the The struggle for a better society is taken seriously by both people and the city hall. Our athletes are examples”, he added.
It is worth mentioning that the tickets for the LFA editions in Cajamar are solidarity tickets, which can be exchanged for non-perishable food items. The entire amount collected during the edition is passed on to families in vulnerable situations assisted by social projects in the municipality supported by the Social Solidarity Fund.
In addition to the City Hall of Cajamar, the LFA has several international and national companies as partners, such as Quantic Hub and the international logistics company FFW, which emphasize that the main purpose of supporting the event is to invest in sport, especially martial arts, as a tool of inclusion.
“When I say that our partners are people who share the same dream, that’s what I’m talking about”, corroborated Feijão. “I was an athlete, I trained athletes, I saw my posture change through sport, I saw lives transformed by my side and I know how much a sports product taken seriously and with committed people can impact society, providing idols and examples”.
LFA 154’s main event will feature a middleweight title fight between Lucas Fernando and Jansey “Jones” Silva; and, in the penultimate duel of the card, the fight for the traditional heavyweight title, involving Eduardo “Bbzão” and Hyago “BRT” Silva. The ceremonial weigh-in with the last faces, which takes place at 5 pm this Thursday, will be broadcast live on Instagram @LFA_Brasil.
