Valdemar says the Judiciary exaggerates against Bolsonaro – 09/11/2023 – Power

The president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, stated that he was not worried about the plea bargain of lieutenant colonel Mauro Cid, former aide-de-camp to Jair Bolsonaro (PL), but said that the Judiciary is going overboard in the investigations against the former president and that there will be change.

“This is a boomerang effect, this is what will happen to those who are exaggerating. This will turn against the Judiciary,” said Valdemar to Sheet.

Without mentioning the names of ministers, the PL president classified decisions by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), chaired by Alexandre de Moraes, as “jokes” that “crossed the line”.

“What the Judiciary did to him, there’s no way it could be okay. It’s just a blind person who can’t see.

The date Valdemar refers to, whose number is the same as the PL (22), is the start of the TSE trial that made Bolsonaro ineligible.

The aforementioned fine was applied in November by Moraes to PL in an action in which the party aimed to invalidate votes cast in part of the ballot boxes in the second round of elections. Moraes condemned Bolsonaro’s coalition to pay a fine in the amount of R$ 22,991,544.60 for bad-faith litigation.

“The jewelry business is an exaggeration, because it was a personal gift. I have no doubt. Just like all past presidents, no one has ever touched the subject. They want to kill Bolsonaro.”

Valdemar claims that the former president made a mistake in communicating the coronavirus pandemic and “paid dearly”, losing the election.

The PL president says he is not worried about Cid’s accusation because Bolsonaro is honest and because he is sure that they will not find traces of misuse of public money. He also claims that Bolsonaro is also not concerned about collaboration.

Valdemar once again said that, in his assessment, the former president will be a great campaigner in next year’s municipal elections, despite all the problems faced in court.

In an interview with Sheet in July, Valdemar had already stated that Bolsonaro is persecuted by the TSE and insinuates that Alexandre de Moraes, president of the court, provokes the former president’s supporters with his decisions.

“Then they will judge Bolsonaro, there are so many days to choose from the month, he chooses the 22nd [número do PL]. Yes, the guy from the PL, on the right, who did this to him [agrediu Moraes] there in Italy, accompany. That is the problem. We are not the ones campaigning against him. Although Valdemar denies having concerns about Mauro Cid’s award-winning collaboration, people close to Bolsonaro claim that the agreement has the potential to compromise the former president’s image.

They also fear possible implications against former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro and are concerned about the content of the revelations that may be presented by the former presidential aide-de-camp.

The collaboration was concluded within the scope of the digital militias investigation, which is the main investigation against Bolsonaro in the STF and targets the attacks on institutions, the coup attempt and the jewelry case, among other points.

In public statements, however, the keyword, according to Bolsonaro’s interlocutors, will be tranquility. The idea is to say that Bolsonaro is serene and maintain the thesis that there is a legal vacuum on gifts received by representatives.

Mauro Cid was arrested on May 3 on suspicion of tampering with his vaccination card, that of Bolsonaro, that of his wife, Gabriela Cid, and one of his daughters.

Cid left the military unit in DF where he was held this Saturday afternoon (9), after signing the agreement, but will now wear an electronic ankle bracelet.

Cid had access to practically all information about the former president’s life and was able to present new details about the jewelry cases, the insertion of false vaccination data and the disinformation campaign against electronic voting machines led by the former head of the Executive.
