Valdemar Costa Neto says that acts of 8/1 were not a coup attempt

The national president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, to which former president Jair Bolsonaro is affiliated, denied that there had been an attempt to carry out a coup d’état on January 8, when demonstrators invaded and destroyed the headquarters of the Three Powers, in Brasília .

According to him, there was a movement in which “a bunch of crazy people” went out breaking things, but Bolsonaro voters asked not to plunder public property.

“No one hits you with a stick. A blow is done with a machine gun, with a war tank, that was never a blow. That was a wrong conduct by the government that already belonged to the PT”, he said in an interview with GloboNews this Tuesday (16).
