Striker Casey Yu-jin Phair became the youngest female soccer player to participate in a Women’s World Cup on Tuesday, playing for South Korea aged 16 years and 26 days.
Born in the United States to a Korean mother and American father, she played on junior teams in North America but made her senior debut with South Korea.
