Unprecedented: Fametro launches medicine course in Parintins

Approval by the MEC with the highest score attests to the excellence of the educational project

Manaus (AM) — Innovating in education, Centro Universitário Fametro expands the opportunity for qualification by offering a medical course in the city of Parintins. The announcement, made by the dean of Fametro, Maria do Carmo Seffair, took place during a press conference held this Friday (2), in the land of bois-bumbás. The approval by the Ministry of Education (MEC) with the highest score attests to the excellence of the educational project, which not only expands access to medical education, but also strengthens local health services by training highly qualified professionals to meet the needs of the population.

In addition to this achievement, with the expansion of the building, Fametro Parintins will have at its disposal laboratories, an auditorium, an entrepreneurship and innovation center, research and extension, and a larger library.

“The education and knowledge that the student acquires within the academy, they will take to society, because that is what the work of a college is. You acquire knowledge, you receive this student, he comes, is trained, prepared and is returned to society to transform the environment”,

said Maria do Carmo Seffair. It is important to highlight that more than R$15 million were invested in the teaching unit.

Fametro Group’s Financial Director, Leandro Albuquerque, points out that there are no differences between the institution in the interior of Amazonas and in the capital of Amazonas. “Parintins is equivalent to other institutions in our units in Manaus, in the capital. So, it is justified, from that moment onwards, Parintins responded very well to entering the medical course”, informed the Director.

Fametro Parintins was opened on June 13, 2019, with the aim of providing quality higher education for the more than 96 thousand inhabitants of the municipality, in addition to the surrounding areas. The unit currently offers six face-to-face courses, including Law, Nursing, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Administration and Pedagogy.

In the blended modality, the variety expands to Nursing, Physical Education, Nutrition, Social Work, Systems Analysis and Development, Aesthetics and Cosmetics. In addition, the Institution is offering 21 courses in the Distance Education modality.
